Why Dirty Work is the Comedy Gold You've Been Sleeping On! 🌟

Includes clips from the film remastered for vertical viewing on mobile

Dirty Work ZoomerFlicks

I'm about to put you onto a comedy flick that's been flying under the radar for waaaaayyyy too long. Released in 1998, the movie Dirty Work features multi-generational who's-who cast with the likes of Chevy Chase, Don Rickles, and even a quick cameo by Adam Sandler. Lead by Artie Lange (yes, that weird looking old fat guy from all those Podcasts) and Norm MacDonald (RIP to a real one), with his dry-wit, which seemed ahead of it's time in the 90's, I feel it jives perfectly with the Zoomer wit of the present day. Seriously, if you don't know about Norm, you owe it to yourself to introduce... Yourself to his work, and this movie is the perfect opportunity.

Now, let’s take a second to pour one out for the legendary Chris Farley. This was his last movie, and he left us with a bang. His scenes are pure gold – the kind you want to rewatch and quote over and over or share on social.

In a time where political correctness runs-rampant, this film doesn't pull any punches, but somehow doesn't come across offensive. Innocently inappropriate at every opportunity, it hammers you with line-straddling jokes so unapologetically hard, that you can't help but laugh.

One of my personal favorite things about Dirty Work is how it feels like a throwback to the days when comedy was all about the simple-laughs and not so much the complicated drama that often dominates comedies of late. The plot? Simple but hilarious: two buddies start a revenge-for-hire business to raise money for surgery for "their" dad. Speaking of dads, the dad character in this flick reminds me of my own, and might hit home for you too... Or maybe your grandpa in your case.

So, why should you, a Zoomer, watch Dirty Work? First off, this movie literally doesn't go five minutes without a laugh and might be my top-to-bottom favourite comedy. That's not an exaggeration. You want constant entertainment? You got it with this flick and it features some of the greatest comedic talent to ever grace the screen. It’s also the kind of chill hangout comedy that's perfect for those nights when you just want to kick back, relax, and have some laughs. Also, a great background flick to put on at parties.

If you appreciate a film where the jokes build on each other until you're ugly-laughing, then welcome to your new favorite movie. Dirty Work is a masterclass in how to weave running jokes together so seamlessly that you'll be marveling at the craftsmanship. Plus, if you're all about discovering those underrated, not-talked-about-enough films, you'll have serious bragging rights with this one.

It's definitely one of the most underrated gems out there. The laughs are relentless, the characters are perfectly quirky, and the whole movie feels like it's just one big inside joke that you're definitely in on. Stay laughing, folks! And remember, old school comedy has a lot to offer, especially when it’s as gold as this one. Fire up Prime Video, grab some snacks, and get ready to dive into the chaotic, hilarious world of Dirty Work. Trust me, it’s gonna be epic. 😂🍿
